PSA: It’s ok if you’re not feeling this sneaker trend.

So why is it so hard to get on this trend train? I’m hearing lots of reasons from readers:

“These shoes make my feet look huuuuuuge.”

Well, I wear a size 9.5. I’m not gonna lie, when I tried them on, my fit did look pretty big. I know that I don’t want my feet to look bigger than they actually are.

“They’re too clunky, chunky. and funky.”

I thought the chunky styling looked pretty cool at first place but when I actually put a pair on, they did look real chunky.

“They’re kinda heavy and awkward to walk in.”

I also felt this. It was like I was walking in slow motion no matter how fast I was walking.

“I tried them on and then face-planted.”

Yeah. You definitely can’t drag your feet in these.

“I don’t think I can drive with these on.”

TBH with you, I’m not sure I could either.

In defense of this trend, I have seen lots of street snaps of women wearing and styling this chunky look really well. The moral of this story: You got to know what works well for you. For me (and a lot of you), it’s a slimmer silhouette.

If you are not feeling this chunky sneaker trend, check out these spring sneakers that won’t supersize your feet or weigh you down. They’re got plenty of style without all that chunk.
